It was another exciting night at the Grand
Sierra Resort and Casino as they hosted their second annual Nonprofit
Invitational Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament on March 5th. Loyal
volunteer and leadership donor to United Way of Northern Nevada and the
Sierra (UWNNS) Andy Gebhardt put on his poker face and took his place at the
table to try his hand for charity. The stakes were high, a $5000 winner
take all prize, all proceeds going to charity.

There to cheer him on were fellow UWNNS
volunteer Dave Bogart, from Bank of America, and his wife Erin along with
Teri Juhl-Blackett, vice president at UWNNS. Although Gebhardt, an employee
of Truckee Meadows Water Authority, didn’t win the pot, he held his own and
was able to stay in longer than most of the other participants. The winner
was KOLO weatherman Dennis Flack who represented the Reno Active 20-30 Club.

United Way is able
to achieve its mission, linking the communities will and resources to
improve lives, through its extensive use of volunteers. Both Andy and Dave
are members of the CanDo team supporting resource development at United Way
of Northern Nevada and the Sierra. A special thank you to our hard working
